Review: Burt's Bees Tinted Lip Balm

Burt's Bees has these new Tinted Lip Balms out which are quite great. I don't know how "new" they are, I've seen them around my Walmart for a long time, but they are new to me, and I've noticed reviews popping up about them right and there so people are catching on to them now. What I love and know about Burt's Bees is that they pride themselves on being a 100% earth friendly natural company. Their most known products are definitely their Beeswax Lip Balm, who doesn't have one of those laying around? And what I love about those is the tingly sensation that they give, unfortunately these tinted lip balms do not have that same thing.

The packaging on these is quite deceiving, you think you are getting more than you are. As you can see the outer packaging is quite chubby, but once you open it you see the two pieces separate and what you're left with is a thin lip balm (similar to the size of all their lip balms). I like the packaging though and have kept it on because I find it handy to keep in my purse, it's easier to find and the lip balm itself doesn't get dirty.

These retail for about $8 Canadian. I had one sent to me through their PR company (Hibiscus) and bought the other one (Tiger Lily) because I liked them so much and wanted to try out another colour. These are advertised as being a "a hint of colour that cares for your lips". So don't expect crazy pigmentation here, although I was pleased with the amount that you do get. I found Hibiscus was definitely more pigmented than Tiger Lily. I have read reviews stating that some of the red ones are not very pigmented, so it may differ depending on the colour you choose and your lip colour too. There are 6 shades available in total.

Tiger Lily

Hibiscus is definitely pigmented on me, Tiger Lily not so much, but it does take away some of the natural redness of my lips and gives a bit of a peach glow. These aren't shimmery, but they are shiny. I like that they are very hydrating and smooth.

Would I recommend this product? Yes I like these a lot. I wish they had SPF in them.
