I first saw a preview of this palette in early August on the Trendmood Instagram page. I just knew I had to have it. I also own and love the Gingerbread Spice and Gingerbread Extra Spicy Palettes by Too Faced. These are the only types of holiday palettes that actually interest me from Too Faced. All of their other holiday palettes tend to be gimmicky (but pretty looking) and not good quality.
THE PACKAGING
The packaging is a rounded rectangular shaped tin in a beautiful pumpkin orange colour. The design on the front kind of looks like spread on a cracker. The name of the palette is printed in two different raised fonts. It has a magnetic closing, which you lift up to reveal the inside of the palette. The little rectangular eyeshadow pans are arranged across a metallic gold base, with the shade names printed in a small black font above each pan. There is also a mirror on the underside of the lid of the palette.

You get eighteen 0.70g eyeshadows in Matte (M), Metallic (ME) and Shimmer (S) finishes.

MY THOUGHTS
· Primer/Base - The eyeshadows are pigmented enough without a primer or base, but I would always lay one down. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance and Too Faced Glitter Glue.
· Pigmentation - The pigmentation is pretty decent, but finger swatches do need building up a bit.
· Application (wet/dry) - The eyeshadows can be applied wet or dry. I always use mattes dry, unless I am applying them to my lower lash line or using them as eyeliner. I sometimes apply metallics/shimmers wet, but it depends on the formula and whether they contain glitters. Wet application can max up the pigmentation and help prevent fallout.
· Blending - They blend very softly and seamlessly, but I did have issues with the shade Spice Of Life.
· Kick-Back - Obviously, there is always going to be kick-back in your eyeshadow pans as you are disturbing powders. The kick-back was not a concern or issue for me in this particular palette.
· Fallout - I only noticed some with the chunky metallic shades, you definitely need that glitter glue!
I really thought I would love this palette as I still enjoy the two gingerbread palettes from the last two holiday launches. The colour story does follow on from the gingerbread palettes, but it doesn’t really scream pumpkin to me. The mattes all blended beautifully apart from the Spice Of Life shade. Purples can be hard to formulate and this really shows with this shade. It looked patchy and it didn’t really want to move when I tried to blend it. The metallic/shimmer shades all look stunning in the pans, but I felt disappointed by them on my eyes. The shades Fall Vibes, Oh My Gourd and PSL & Chill are quite chunky in texture, which means there can be lots of sparkly fallout. PSL & Chill is also quite dry in texture; it reminds me of the shade Frostbite Me! from the original Gingerbread Spice Palette and I really didn’t like that shade for the same reasons. PSL & Chill is also just not pigmented enough. It looks like a gorgeous metallic glittery purple in the pan, but it doesn’t look like that on your eyes. It looks like a lack lustre dry dark purple with a hint of sparkle and tons of glitter fallout! I feel like the quality of this palette is not the same as the gingerbread palettes, which is very disappointing. I do detect the scent, but I don’t know what Pumpkin Spice smells like so I cannot compare it. The scent kind of smells fusty to me. My favourite shades are Fall Vibes, Pumpkin Spiceand Ginger Spice. It is also missing a light metallic/shimmer shade for highlighter your inner corner, but you do get the matte white/cream shade with Whipped Cream. Overall I am quite disappointed with the quality of this palette. It is definitely not a worthy successor to the Gingerbread Spice and Gingerbread Extra Spicy Palettes! I would give this one a miss if I were you and hope for a better/more improved successor next year.
