The Memphis Grizzlies and Chandler Parsons have agreed to part ways.
Parsons will leave the Grizzlies while agent James Dunleavy will work with the team on a resolution.
Parsons is owed $38 million on his original four-year, $94 million maximum contract, including $25.1 million for the 2019-20 season.
Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace wanted Parsons to play several games with the Grizzlies' G League affiliate, the Memphis Hustle, before deciding on returning Parsons to the active roster with the Grizzlies.
Parsons has not played since exiting the Grizzlies' third game of the season because of soreness in his right knee, but was medically cleared on Dec. 21.
"Let me play!" Parsons shouted at Wallace several times after hitting 3-pointers during a scrimmage.
